SHOCK AS CHELSEA SET TO SIGN LONG TERM MAN CITY TARGET
Chelsea are now confident of clinching a £57.5million double deal that will see Maurizio Sarri and Jorginho both join them.
Chelsea have moved to capture Jorginho from under the noses of Manchester City, who were last night left fuming at the loss of a player they thought they had captured.
But the signing of Brazilian-born Italy midfielder Jorginho is now expected to be the key to unlocking the release of Sarri, his coach at Napoli, to become Chelsea’s new manager.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis last night claimed that a compensation deal with Chelsea, thought to be worth £7m, for the remaining two years of Sarri’s contract, was at the “finishing line”.
Chelsea could part ways with Cesc Fabregas when they sign Jorginho and Maurizio Sarri.
The Serie A club's reluctance to allow the Italian to leave has wreaked havoc with Chelsea's pre-season plans.
But offering Fabregas as a makeweight in the transfer may soften Napoli's stance in the coming weeks.
And according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the Spaniard could be on his to Serie A in the near future.
Fabregas has struggled to cement his place in the first-team at Stamford Bridge since Antonio Conte's arrival.
And La Repubblica report Ancelotti would welcome the midfielder in Naples this summer. More to follow as this story progresses.
